From February 1 to 7, 2026, the Institute of Theology of the Society of Jesus (ITCJ) is honored to host a global academic event organized by NExUS (Nurturing Exegetical Understanding of Scripture) under the direction of Father Paul BERE, focusing on the theme: “Biblical Hermeneutics and Cultural Diversity.”
International scholars from Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe, and North America have all gathered in Abidjan to explore the impact of cultural diversity on biblical interpretation. Through conferences and workshops, the main goal is to understand how our cultural diversities enrich and shape our reading and understanding of the Bible. This second edition (following Rome in 2023) marks an important milestone in building a truly global hermeneutical community. It is an honor for the ITCJ and Côte d’Ivoire to host this international scholarly dialogue!
